Monique B. Boulet made history in January 2024 as the first woman to serve as Lafayette Parish's Mayor-President. A lifelong resident of Lafayette, she is the daughter of the late Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, Louisiana's only female governor, and the late Raymond "Coach" Blanco.

Before taking office, Boulet served as CEO of the Acadiana Planning Commission, where she led major regional initiatives including the Acadiana Rural Fiber-to-the-Home program, the Acadiana Watershed Initiative, and regional transportation and economic development planning. She holds an Executive MBA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

As Mayor-President, Boulet has focused on stabilizing parish operations, strengthening public safety, advancing infrastructure and capital improvement projects, and modernizing government services with an emphasis on transparency.
