Superintendent
Francis Touchet, Jr. was appointed Superintendent of the Lafayette Parish School System in 2023. He is the district’s chief executive, hired by and reporting to the elected board. In January 2026 the board extended his contract through December 2029 at an annual salary of $300,000.
