Hannah Smith Mason

Hannah Smith Mason represents District 8 — south Lafayette and Milton — and serves as President of the Lafayette Parish School Board. A local artist and public-school parent, she was first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023.

Mason grew up in the area, spent 17 years away, and returned to Lafayette with her family in 2014. Her children attend District 8 schools, and she previously served as vice president of the Woodvale Parent-Teacher Committee. District 8 includes Milton Elementary, Woodvale Elementary, L.J. Alleman Middle, and Milton Middle.
